Inter Milan president and CEO Beppe Marotta would further solidify his place in the club’s history records by winning the Scudetto title this season.

The 67-year-old has been the club’s ultimate smooth operator since his arrival in 2018.

The Varese native left a great legacy at Sampdoria before architecting the famous Juventus nine-year winning dynasty.

Marotta has already won two Serie A titles since joining the Nerazzurri. This includes last season’s historic second-star triumph.

Shortly afterwards, the club witnessed a major shakeup at the highest level, with Oaktree Capital taking over the ownership following Suning’s default.

But despite the departure of his old ally Steven Zhang, Marotta’s role at the club kept growing.

In fact, the new owners confirmed his role as Sporting CEO, while choosing him as Zhang’s heir for the presidency.

As La Gazzetta dello Sport (via FcInterNews) observes, Oaktree’s decision showcases their unwavering trust in Marotta’s work.

Moreover, the pink newspaper reveals how the former Sampdoria and Juventus general director can dispel an old curse by the end of the season.

Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta Aims For Another Historic Achievement

As the source explains, Marotta would become the first person in 104 years to win the Scudetto title in his first year as Inter Milan president.

Only two previous Nerazzurri presidents managed to achieve this feat. The last to do so remains Giorgio Hulss.

Even the legendary Angelo Moratti and his son Massimo Moratti couldn’t lift the domestic title at the first time of asking.

While the season remains long, Marotta finds himself best positioned to break the spell. After all, most observers believe the Nerazzurri is the best-equipped club to win the Serie A title, especially following last season’s great exploits.
