The January transfer window hasn’t yet brought any new signings to Trigoria.
Frederic Massara’s current focus is strengthening Gian Piero Gasperini’s attack.
The names the Giallorossi coach has mentioned to the sporting director are Joshua Zirkzee and Giacomo Raspadori, but both are facing significant challenges, making it difficult to secure a deal.
Precisely for this reason, the club is also evaluating alternative options, particularly regarding the Atlético Madrid striker.
Among those being monitored, though not at the top of the coach’s list, is Fiorentina’s Albert Gudmundsson, an option being considered at this stage of the transfer window.
As reported by Sportmediaset, Gudmundsson’s profile is attractive, even though he isn’t a first-choice option.
In this difficult start to the season for Fiorentina, the Icelander has made 16 appearances in Serie A, scoring three goals and providing one assist.
The situation of Paolo Vanoli’s team, still stuck in the relegation zone, could push the former Genoa player to consider a switch.
Currently, Trigoria is also discussing the possibility of a swap deal with Tommaso Baldanzi, who is believed to be leaving the capital.
Hellas Verona also remains keenly interested in the midfielder, a factor that could impact the evaluation and development of negotiations.
