Roma ‘to consider’ Sunderland’s £30m record signing Habib Diarra | OneFootball

Roma could look at Sunderland midfielder Habib Diarra this summer, with any move linked to changes in their midfield.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Diarra is on a list of possible options if Manu Koné leaves, with Rangers midfielder Nicolas Raskin also under consideration.

The report does not indicate any bid or formal talks, and any pursuit appears contingent on Koné departing, so Diarra is viewed as a potential replacement rather than an immediate priority.

Diarra joined from Strasbourg last summer for around £30m, a club-record fee. The 22-year-old signed a five-year contract running to 2030.

He is expected to play a significant role for Régis Le Bris this season. Sunderland are not thought to be seeking a sale and would be in a strong position if Roma firm up their interest.

The midfielder came through Mulhouse and Strasbourg, made his Ligue 1 debut in October 2021, then established himself before moving to Wearside in July 2025.

He has now returned to training after an extended break following the World Cup.
