Beyond the goals, he linked play smartly in a classic pivot role, producing neat layoffs, including a superb one for Endrick early in the second half.

Energetic and secure in his position, he occupied the central lane and disrupted Auxerre’s spine, while Tolisso also found the net to cap Lyon’s decisive surge.
