Cristiano Ronaldo’s contribution to the Roshn Saudi League racked up another notable feat on Saturday, when the Al Nassr captain recorded his 100th goal involvement in the Saudi top flight.
More importantly, he’d definitely say, was that it helped Al Nassr maintain their perfect start to the 2025-26 RSL. With the 3-1 triumph at NEOM Sports Club, the Riyadh side perch atop the table by three points, boasting eight wins from eight.
Yet, as he so often does, Ronaldo took the headlines. His highlight in Tabuk on Saturday came in the form of a second successive converted penalty - remember last week’s dramatic winner against Al Fayha? - to double Al Nassr’s advantage against the promoted side.
Angelo had put the RSL leaders in front in the first half, Ronaldo converted from the spot just after the hour, and then Joao Felix responded late to NEOM SC halving the deficit through Ahmed Abdo. When the dust had settled, Al Nassr had their 24th point from a possible 24.
But Ronaldo led the celebrations. And the plaudits. The Portuguese superstar, so intent on guiding Al Nassr to a first top-flight title in six seasons, now has a century of RSL goal involvements.
The two-time golden boot winner’s record reads 83 goals and 17 assists. Quite remarkably, or as remarkable as Ronaldo’s incredible achievements feel at this stage, the haul’s come from only 85 RSL appearances.
A 953rd professional career goal edges him closer to that hallowed 1,000 mark. A ninth of the RSL season keeps him one back from Felix in the race for a third successive top-scorer gong.
As if he wasn’t already, but Ronaldo really is a bona-fide RSL legend.
