Benfica, led by Rui Costa, are monitoring Jagiellonia attacking midfielder Bartosz Mazurek, 19, ahead of next season. According to Goal.pl, the teenager has emerged as a potential option.
Mazurek is said to be on a shortlist the Benfica hierarchy have under review, with the club having assessed his profile and compiled scouting reports. The work is understood to be preliminary at this stage.
There have been no approaches from the club so far.
He was also on Porto’s radar during the winter window, with rumours of exploratory contact, but they opted instead to sign his Jagiellonia team-mate Oskar Pietuszewski.
This season Mazurek has played 31 competitive matches for Jagiellonia, and is valued at 3.5 million euros. His outings include 18 in the Polish league, nine in the Conference League, three in the Third Division and one in the Polish Cup, totalling 1,823 minutes. He has five goals and two assists.
