Rui Costa decides Benfica sale of Diogo Prioste for 2026/27 | OneFootball

According to Glorioso 1904, Rui Costa and Benfica's board have decided to sell Diogo Prioste in 2026/27, with the B-team midfielder not expected to feature in José Mourinho's plans next season.

He is set to continue his career at a new club, preferably in the Primeira Liga. Benfica intend to include specific clauses in any deal.

The club aim to keep a percentage of his rights, offering protection for a possible buy-back or a future financial return if he later secures a major move.

Those terms mirror the structure used when Leandro Santos joined Moreirense in January, when Benfica retained a buy-back option.

This season for Benfica, Prioste has played 19 competitive matches, 17 in Liga Portugal Meu Super and two in Liga Portugal Betclic, across 1,497 minutes. Wearing the number 86 shirt, he has three goals and five assists.

He is valued at 2 million euros.
