Santiago Bueno named Wolves player of the season as Joao Gomes leads community awards | OneFootball

According to ExpressAndStar.com, Wolves have announced their end-of-season award winners, with Santiago Bueno voted player of the season.

The honours were presented after Friday's training session at Compton Park, ahead of the final game of the season at Burnley.

Bueno topped the supporters' vote with 34 per cent, finishing ahead of Joao Gomes and Hugo Bueno. The 27-year-old made 33 appearances in defence and scored four times, including his first for the club at Spurs and an FA Cup winner at Grimsby Town.

Gomes, last season's player of the year, collected the players' player of the year prize this time. He also received the men's community player of the season and the club's PFA community champion award for work alongside the Wolves Foundation over the last 12 months.

Hugo Bueno took goal of the season for his strike against recently crowned Premier League champions Arsenal. The defender struck from the edge of the box into the top corner, sparking what proved to be a sensational comeback, and he was also named Wolves' player of the month for April.

Wolves Women were recognised after securing a historic promotion to WSL 2. Georgia Marshall won the supporters' player of the season and Amber Hughes was voted players' player.

Abbi Jenner claimed goal of the season for her effort against Sporting Khalsa. Hughes finished as top scorer and received the league's Golden Boot after scoring 21 goals in the 2025/26 campaign, while Louanne Worsey was named the club's PFA women's community champion.
