Santos have until 27 March to sign state league or unattached players | OneFootball

According to Diario Do Peixe, the CBF has opened a domestic exception for clubs to register players who featured in state championships or had contracts rescinded before three March, after the international transfer window shut on Tuesday three March.

This domestic window runs from Wednesday four March to 27 March. Santos remain in the market, with Alexandre Mattos and Marcelo Teixeira monitoring options.

Since the turn of the year the club have added six reinforcements, centre-back Lucas Veríssimo, midfielders Christian Oliva and Gabriel Menino, on loan from Atlético-MG, and forwards Moisés, Rony and Gabriel Barbosa, on loan from Cruzeiro.

Santos also finalised permanent deals for Zé Ivaldo and Barreal after their loans, and welcomed Miguelito back from América-MG. The football department exceeded the limit and loaned 16 players, including João Fernandes and Andrey Quintino to Confiança-SE, Alexis Duarte to Libertad, Luisão to Goiás, and overseas moves for Enzo Monteiro to Cheongju, Gustavo Caballero to Portsmouth and Billal Brahimi to Estrela Amadora.

There were contract terminations for midfielders Ed Carlos, Kevin Malthus and Sandry. Others left at the end of their deals, defenders Luiz Felipe and Messias and midfielders Matheus Nunes, Vinicius Balieiro and Rodrigo Fernandez. Sales included Zanocelo to Ceará, Nonato to Fluminense and Guilherme to Houston Dynamo in the United States.

Centre-back Alex Nascimento and midfielder Caio Araújo are training separately with their futures undecided, while forward Morelos is involved in a legal case. After 27 March, the transfer window reopens from 20 July to 11 September.
