Santos loan Bilal Brahimi to Portugal’s Estrela da Amadora until mid-year | OneFootball

According to Globo.com, Santos have loaned Algerian forward Bilal Brahimi to Estrela da Amadora in Portugal until mid-year, when the Portuguese season ends.

Brahimi leaves after featuring for only 20 minutes in the draw with Bragantino in the 25th round of last year's Campeonato Brasileiro.

He was named in some matchday squads that season but did not get on the pitch, and during the run-in, with the club fighting relegation, coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda stopped including him.

This season, although registered for the Campeonato Paulista and the Campeonato Brasileiro, he has not been involved in any match.

Football executive Alexandre Mattos faced criticism over signing a player who was not used, and Brahimi was at the centre of an argument between the director and a journalist after the draw with Corinthians in the Paulistão.

His contract with Santos runs until the end of this season, and the expectation is that he returns to the club once his loan ends.
