Santos will be without Neymar for Tuesday’s Copa Sudamericana group finale against Deportivo Cuenca at Vila Belmiro, a decisive night for their qualification hopes.

According to Diario Do Peixe, Neymar did gym work at CT Rei Pelé on Monday as he continues to recover from a right calf oedema. He will not play for the club before reporting to the Brazil squad for the World Cup on Wednesday at Granja Comary.

Forward Rollheiser, absent against Grêmio due to muscle problems, trained on the pitch and could return. Barreal is also available after serving a suspension in Porto Alegre. Centre-back Lucas Veríssimo is suspended after his third yellow card.

Santos need victory over Deportivo Cuenca and also require Recoleta not to beat San Lorenzo in Argentina. If the Paraguayan side win, Santos must overturn a deficit of three goals in goal difference relative to San Lorenzo to advance.

Under the Copa Sudamericana format, only group winners progress directly to the last 16. Runners-up enter a playoff against the teams who finished third in their Copa Libertadores groups.
