The São Paulo public prosecutor’s office has ordered Corinthians to assist an inquiry into a possible breach of precautionary measures imposed on former president Andrés Sánchez amid investigations into alleged misuse of the club’s corporate card.
The request was filed on Wednesday by prosecutor Cássio Conserino after a complaint from supporter Ericson Herlytonio Silva Mota. UOL reports that Corinthians were given 72 hours to provide the details of councillor André Luiz de Oliveira, 'André Negão', so he can be heard about a meeting with Sánchez on four February allegedly recorded by a fan.
Officials also asked São Paulo City Hall and the municipal guard for footage of the site via City Câmeras (Smart Sampa). Corinthians was told to hand over images from the fifth floor of Parque São Jorge on the day Sánchez testified to the Comissão de Justiça do Conselho Deliberativo in early December.
Prosecutors further want to establish whether Sánchez maintained contact with Antônio Jorge Rachid Júnior, a lifetime councillor and the club presidency’s current secretary-general. The complaint alleged the pair spoke by phone on three February, and Rachid’s details were requested to schedule a hearing.
The precautionary measures were imposed at the end of 2025, shortly after charges were filed over alleged misuse of the corporate card during Sánchez’s 2018 to 2020 administration.
Sánchez said he had not committed any irregularity or breached the measures, adding he had not contacted the secretary-general and that André Luiz Negão does not hold a management post at the club.
