Sassuolo CEO Confirms Interest In Highly-Rated Defender Wanted By Inter & Juventus | OneFootball

Sassuolo have confirmed that interest is building around Tarik Muharemovic, with the club’s CEO openly acknowledging enquiries amid links to both Inter and Juventus.

Speaking to Sky Sport, via FCInterNews, Giovanni Carnevali addressed the growing attention on the defender.

Muharemovic has been monitored by Inter as a potential option should Stefan de Vrij depart, and also admired by Juventus.

“Not just him, but we have one or two others as well,” Carnevali said. “We are receiving requests. We’re still at an early stage and we need to see how things develop.”

Carnevali then expanded on Muharemovic’s trajectory and Sassuolo’s broader philosophy.

“Muharemovic is showing great things and he’s a player with enormous potential,” he explained. “There’s no point hiding it, interest will arrive. But that’s part of our policy.”

The CEO underlined how such situations align with the club’s identity.

“We’ve always been a club that tries to develop young players, help them grow and give them the chance to move to a big club,” he said.

“That’s what we work towards every day.”

Interest in Muharemovic does not concern Sassuolo, Carnevali added.

“Alongside him there are other young players, and that only pleases us. It doesn’t worry us. If the right opportunities arise, I believe it’s right for everyone, for the player to aspire to a big club, and for Sassuolo to stay true to our values and the project of our ownership.”

For now, Sassuolo remain calm, but the message is clear: Muharemovic’s rise has not gone unnoticed, and enquiries are only just beginning.
