Scott, Chinchilla lead Costa Rica past Bermuda in W Qualifiers

DEVONSHIRE PARISH, Bermuda – The 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers continued with Costa Rica earning an 8-nil win against Bermuda in Group C on Tuesday at Dame Flora Duffy National Sports Centre in Devonshire Parish, Bermuda.
Fabiola Villalobos opened the scoring for Las Ticas in the 5’. Sheika Scott, who provided the assist for Costa Rica’s first goal, doubled the lead in the 7’.
Priscila Chinchilla struck a right-footed banger from outside the box for the third goal in the 16’. An own goal by Jaden Masters in the 30’ added to Costa Rica’s tally.
Costa Rica continued the offensive in the 39’ through Katherine Alvarado and extended its lead again in the 70’ thanks to Stephannie Blanco.
Scott converted from the penalty spot in the 75’ to collect her brace. Chinchilla secured her own brace to close the scoring in the 87’.
Costa Rica will look for its third win in a row when it hosts the Cayman Islands on April 11. Bermuda will welcome Grenada on April 19 in the W Qualifiers.
