The UEFA Executive Committee will decide on Thursday whether to allow Serie A to move the Milan vs. Como match to Australia in February 2026.
The Lega Serie A made the formal request to play the fixture abroad, because San Siro is out of use at the start of February due to the opening ceremony of the Milano-Cortina games.
While Inter also have Champions League commitments, Milan and Como do not, meaning they could afford a longer trip around this match.
It prompted them to ask for it to become the first ever Serie A game played abroad, specifically in Perth.

They need the approval of several different bodies, including the Australian Federation, FIFA, the Asian Football Confederation, and UEFA.
Of all those, the one least likely to accept is UEFA, so tomorrow’s meeting of the executive in Tirana could be crucial.
Serie A, Milan and Como argue it is an opportunity to give greater visibility to their league, and that it is a one-off rather than set to become a regular occurrence.
Other leagues are keeping a close eye on the situation, as the Premier League and LaLiga would also push to play abroad if given the all clear.
Villarreal vs. Barcelona has already been proposed for Miami in December 2025.
