Como’s owner, Mirwan Suwarso, has confirmed that the club is working to secure full rights of Nico Paz from Real Madrid.
The 20-year-old Argentine midfielder, who joined Como in 2024 for €6 million, a deal that gave the Italian side 50% of his rights, has become a key player for the team.
Meanwhile, it is to be noted that Real Madrid, who still hold the remaining 50% of his rights, included buy-back clauses in the original agreement.
The first of those clauses, valued at €8 million, has not been triggered, meaning Nico continues to play for Como. In recent months, he has attracted attention from other top clubs, including Inter Milan, but Como are keen to keep him long-term.
Speaking to La Stampa (h/t Mundo Deportivo), Suwarso confirmed that discussions with Real Madrid are already underway. “We are in talks to retain him,” he said.

“The meetings we’ve had so far have been positive, but it will take time.” Como clearly see Nico as part of their long-term project and are willing to negotiate to gain full control of his future.
The midfielder had previously been linked with a return to Madrid, especially ahead of the 2025 Club World Cup.
However, with Real choosing not to activate the buy-back clause so far, Como are pushing forward with their own plans.
Suwarso also took time to address the speculation around head coach Cesc Fabregas, who was linked with several clubs earlier in the summer. “My relationship with Cesc is excellent. We believed in his vision from day one,” Suwarso said.
“He’s helped us not just on the pitch, but with building our identity. There were no official meetings in June, just rumours that made us laugh.”
With Nico thriving under Fabregas and Como pushing for full ownership, the club appears to be building both a promising team and a clear vision for the future.
