Sevilla are set for a busy final day of the summer transfer window, with signings and sales expected at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. And the first two of those have practically been agreed.

In the early hours of Monday morning, Fabrizio Romano reported that Sevilla had agreed a deal to sell Dodi Lukebakio to Benfica, with the Portuguese giants having met the €30m asking price that had been set. This is a major loss for Los Nervionenses, although they have moved quickly to secure a possible replacement.

According to Diario AS, Sevilla have reached an agreement to sign Alexis Sanchez, formerly of Barcelona, Arsenal and Manchester United. The 36-year-old is set to join on a free transfer, with Udinese keen to secure his exit before the transfer window closes.

Sanchez to make La Liga return 11 years after Barcelona exit

Since leaving Barcelona in the summer of 2014, Sanchez has played for Arsenal, Man United, Inter (twice), Marseille and Udinese, and he is now set to continue his career at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. He will be keen to play regularly, and with Lukebakio’s exit coupled with a recent injury to Chidera Ejuke, he will have plenty of chances.

Sanchez is expected to be the first of at least two signings made by Sevilla during deadline day. There are plans for a defensive midfielder to arrive, and talks are underway with Fenerbahce’s Sofyan Amrabat. However, that deal will be tricky, given that a number of Serie A clubs are also in the race for the Morocco international.

It remains to be seen who arrives at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan before 8pm CEST on Monday evening, but Sanchez is certain to. But time is running out for Sevilla to make the remainder of their desired signings, with less than 12 hours to go.
