Tayo Adaramola could follow in Barry Bannan's footsteps of making the permanent move from Crystal Palace to Sheffield Wednesday this summer
Sheffield Wednesday will leave the Championship in four games before embarking on their journey back into League One, though they may have a few silver linings to hold on to.
It's certainly not been a memorable season for Sheffield Wednesday supporters, at least not in terms of cheerful memories.
Ironically, one of their highlights of the campaign will be when the club entered administration and were finally rid of Thai businessman Dejphon Chansiri, with his disastrous tenure as owner of the club finally coming to an end.
His inability to run the South Yorkshire outfit properly resulted in a 15-point deduction to begin the campaign in League One next year, should they be unable to find a buyer in time, whilst the possibility of having a £7k per week salary cap restriction still lingers over them.
Despite this, there are numerous reasons for Owls supporters to be excited about next season, as the club enters a new era with the possibility to rebuild and come back in a better place than where they left, as one player has already opened the door to a potential return this summer.

Irish left-back Tayo Adaramola joined Sheffield Wednesday in January on loan from Premier League side Crystal Palace, having spent the first half of the campaign on loan at League One outfit Leyton Orient.
The 22-year-old has quickly become an important figure on the left side at Hillsborough, and has recently admitted that he would jump at the chance to join the Owls permanently this summer.
Having starred in Wednesday's goalless draw with Coventry City on Saturday, Adaramola said, "Of course", when asked about whether he would return to the club.
"It'd be a pleasure of mine to play for such a big club at any time in my career. I've got a lot of love for this club for giving me such an opportunity, so, of course, I'd repay them if the opportunity comes.
"I haven't seen anything like it. For us to be relegated in the manner that we were, for them [the fans] to keep taking it up a notch shows how much they love the club and how much they're willing to fight for it. I'm just so proud to play for such a club that has that 12th man every time we're on the pitch."
Having been sent out on a series of loans with the likes of RWDM, Stockport County, Bradford City, Leyton Orient, and now Sheffield Wednesday, it looks increasingly unlikely that Adaramola has any long-term future at Selhurst Park.
The Irishman could well be on the move to Hillsborough permanently this summer if a deal between the two clubs can be agreed, and could follow in the footsteps of a certain midfielder who trod the same path.

Scottish midfielder Barry Bannan spent two years contracted to Crystal Palace between 2013 and 2015, though he only managed 27 appearances during his time with the Eagles, spending six months on loan with Bolton Wanderers in that time.
He'd join Sheffield Wednesday in the summer of 2015, initially on a one-year deal, with nobody, not even himself, envisioning the career he would have in South Yorkshire thereafter.
477 appearances across all competitions, 37 goals, and 75 assists later, Bannan would be forced to leave the Owls in January 2026 due to financial circumstances, joining promotion contenders Millwall on an 18-month deal in an emotional exit.
Internal talks at Hillsborough have taken place over a potential return for the midfielder this summer, with his relationship between the club and fans second to none.
Adaramola would need to have a seismic impact and deep love for the club to come anywhere close to the level of loyalty Bannan has shown to the Owls, but could well tread the same path between Palace and Wednesday this summer.
The Scot remains the last player to make the permanent move between the two clubs, and Adaramola could break that record this summer should he secure a permanent deal in South Yorkshire.
