Pedersen has had to deal with a number of pressing issues this season, both on and off the pitch, due to former owner Dejphon Chansiri’s financial woes.

The Thai businessman was forced to place Wednesday into administration after failing to satisfy a £1m HMRC bill, which saw the club get slapped with an automatic 12-point deduction.

Although this all but confirms their relegation to League One, supporters have relished the opportunity of watching their club once more, now hopeful that better times are just around the corner.

Names such as Mike Ashley and John Textor have cropped up in reports of who may lead the Owls forward as their next owner, with a large amount of interest supposedly shown in the Steel City side.

Due to Chansiri’s financial mismanagement, Wednesday were placed under five different embargoes, which severely limited the business they were able to complete in the transfer market.

Loan deals for Ethan Horvath and Harry Amass were the Owls’ only two signings of the summer, which means that there has been a great reliance on youth players to fill in during the early part of the season.

One of the young talents Henrik Pedersen has had to call upon is striker George Brown, who has already made seven appearances for the first team this season.

The 19-year-old has evident ability, proven by the two Championship goals he has already scored against Birmingham City and Portsmouth.

Although Brown has impressed, he still has a long way to go in his development, which may prove challenging to focus on whilst also trying to rapidly adapt to Championship football.

With this in mind, Pedersen has called upon a club legend to help the young forward improve accordingly.

As per journalist Alan Biggs via X, Wednesday’s coach has installed former Owl David Hirst to personally help train Brown.

Biggs added that the arrangement is being done on a purely ad hoc basis for now, with Hirst’s goodwill the driving force behind it.

For a young forward such as Brown, who is still making his way in the game, picking up teachings from an operator as talented as Hirst is worth its weight in gold.

Hirst spent 11 years at Hillsborough and scored 106 league goals in 294 games for the Owls, during a period which saw the Steel City side compete in the Premier League.

An England international, the Wednesday legend will be able to tweak Brown’s game in important ways, which could have a significant impact on how successful the 19-year-old’s career is.

Pedersen will be delighted to see one of the club’s former heroes help train the stars of today and could look to employ that tactic in other areas of his squad.
