Sunderland are weighing up Simon Adingra’s future this summer. The winger looks set to leave on a permanent basis with several clubs interested.

According to Foot Mercato, AS Monaco want to secure another loan after declining their option to buy the 24-year-old at the end of the 2025/26 campaign. The clubs have close links through Juan Sartori, who sits on both boards and has family ties to Monaco’s ownership.

Sunderland’s preference is likely to be a permanent move this summer, which complicates Monaco’s stance. AS Roma and RB Leipzig, both bound for the Champions League next season, are said to be monitoring developments.

Interest has also come from newly promoted Ipswich Town and Hull City, and from recently relegated West Ham United. West Ham have retained Nuno as head coach and are looking to strengthen after the bumper sale of Mateus Fernandes. Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville are also expected to draw interest during the summer window.

Adingra made some positive contributions in the first half of last season but struggled to break into Régis Le Bris’s starting XI regularly. Sunderland must now decide whether to cash in or arrange another loan to rebuild his confidence and value.

He is on a summer break after Ivory Coast exited the World Cup at the last 32 stage.
