Joao Pedro has been a different beast under Liam Rosenior, and Sky Sports have detailed the differences in his data.

You can see that he clearly much prefers playing under Rosenior and has created a good relationship with the Chelsea head coach since he took over from Enzo Maresca halfway through the season.

Rosenior is known for his player relations skills and getting players on his side, and it looks like Pedro is one of his star pupils so far.

He’s been in superb form and has been banging in the goals for fun lately, ever since Rosenior arrived. And it is no coincidence that his numbers are better under Rosenior, as well as his heat map.

Differences in data

Sky Sports had a look at some of Pedro’s data yesterday and compared it with his time under Maresca. You can see below by the heat map that Pedro has been afforded more freedom to roam under Rosenior.

Pedro has also been in the box more under Rosenior, but that is down to Maresca using him as a 10 a bit more than the latter has.

This will also be a factor in the below image, with Maresca being forced to use him more as a 10 in order to cover injuries.

In other news this week

Saturday was a good day for Chelsea left backs – Jorrel Hato had a good game and Marc Cucurella returned from his hamstring injury to help Chelsea beat Wrexham 4-2 in the FA Cup after extra time.

Hato might be needed for another important game this week – it all depends on what the physios say about Marc Cucurella.
