After Chelsea made it 5 games without a win (or a goal) last night, today’s papers are full of big exclusives from journalists outlining what’s gone wrong.
Mike Keegan’s for the Daily Mail has some of the most detail on the dressing room issues.
He claims that Chelsea players “do not understand” what Liam Rosenior is asking of them, and that his tendency to change plans mid-match is making things worse.
He even has quotes from a source on the matter:
“He’s intense and he overloads them with information, he does a lot of individual work on top of what he does with the group. It’s difficult for them to follow and it makes things worse when he changes those instructions during games.”
Well, he’s been sacked now – let’s hope the new man knows how to keep it simple.
Regardless of the information Rosenior gave them, the players should still have been able to do the basics of defending and attacking better. We’re not sure what he was telling them, but it’s certainly not that they should let their opposition win headers and score soft goals.
Chelsea’s players are a huge part of the problem at the club – they aren’t willing to put their faith in Rosenior, and they don’t care that it’s self-harm.
Rosenior is still getting backed by one journalist, who has some interesting reasons for why the club should stick with him.
