How you can watch QPR's trip to Southampton this coming Tuesday night

The play-off race is continuing to heat up as the games come thick and fast in the Championship, and both Southampton and QPR will be looking to gain the advantage in said race when they face each other on Tuesday night.

The Saints were frustrated at home on Saturday against Charlton Athletic, sharing the points despite leading, and lost ground on the top six as a result, falling four points behind.

Therefore, continuing their run of games at St Mary's against an inconsistent QPR outfit, on paper, is a good way for Tonda Eckert's side to stretch their unbeaten league run to seven games and return to winning ways.

However, inconsistent opponents are difficult to prepare for, and despite just two wins in their last seven for QPR, both of them have come against promotion hopefuls, downing Coventry City at Loftus Road, and then coming away from the MKM Stadium with all three points last time out against Hull City.

It's all setting up to be a blockbuster affair down on the south coast under the lights, and here's how you can watch the game from the comfort of your own home.

Southampton's new manager bounce took them past QPR at Loftus Road, and Hoops will be out for revenge

Southampton's trip to QPR back in early November was the first game of the post-Will Still era at the club, and marked the start of a run of six wins in seven games that led to Tonda Eckert being handed the managerial position full-time.

Given the Saints' strong underlying numbers under Still, there was always going to be a bounce back once a new manager came in, and, unfortunately for Julien Stephan's side, that began at Loftus Road.

Now, just under four months on, Southampton's dire situation at the foot of the table at the time of the reverse fixture is firmly in the rearview mirror, and the former Premier League side is eying play-off success once more.

But, after a confidence-boosting win against Hull, QPR may still feel that they have an outside chance of crashing the top six party come May, and securing back-to-back wins for the first time since early December will go a long way in legitimising them.

With six points separating 6th from 15th with 13 games remaining, there's going to be numerous mammoth six-pointers in the race for the play-offs in the coming weeks, and this is no exception.

And neutral fans, plus fans of teams who aren't in action until Wednesday, will have an eye on their TV screens to see how it all plays out at St Mary's.
