Juventus head coach Luciano Spalletti has identified Lazio full-back Nuno Tavares as a potential signing, according to The Laziali.

The Turin club are reshaping their hierarchy, with CEO Damien Comolli to depart after a disappointing season and Giovanni Carnevali set to replace him. Transfer plans are expected to accelerate once appointments are formalised.

After missing the Champions League, Juventus could need to cash in on at least one key player. Andrea Cambiaso is widely viewed as a candidate amid interest from leading European sides.

Tavares is seen as a possible replacement, and links to Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie are played down, with the defender expected to be central to Roberto De Zerbi’s plans. Arrivals of Alejandro Grimaldo, Matteo Ruggeri or Emerson Palmieri are also considered unlikely.

No talks have yet been opened with Lazio. The Rome club rejected an approach from Al-Hilal for Tavares last summer.

Tavares joined Lazio on loan from Arsenal in summer 2024, and the option to buy was triggered for €6 million last summer. Arsenal retain a 35-40% sell-on clause, so the Gunners are monitoring the 26-year-old’s situation.

Lazio have already secured left-back Alfonso Pedraza on a free transfer once his Villarreal contract expires at the end of the month. Even so, Lazio are expected to keep Tavares and instead sell Luca Pellegrini, who has been linked with Como and Hull City.
