Pablo Garcia became the standout name of the UEFA U19 European Championship after scoring four goals for Spain against Germany.
One goal direct from a corner, two strikes from close range, and a brilliant individual effort were the highlights of a memorable 120-minute performance for the attacker.
The Real Betis forward was instrumental in helping Spain reach the final, in a match where Barcelona youth players Jan Virgili and Quim Junyent also made a key impact coming off the bench.
A few hours after the game, Pablo Garcia appeared on COPE, where he gave a clear answer when asked whether he admired Barcelona or Real Madrid more.
The young forward ruled out the idea of leaving Real Betis for any other club at this point but confessed he preferred Barça.
“Right now it’s not in my plans and I don’t think it’s going to be for a long time. I’ve been a Betis fan all my life, since I was in my mother’s belly,” said Garcia.
“I have a preference, I’m a Real Betis fan because it’s the team of my life but I’m much more attracted to Barcelona. Here I always get together with La Masia players, who as well as being great players are great people.”

Garcia was clear about the club he would not consider – Betis’ historic rivals Sevilla. At the same time, he expressed hope that first-team manager Manuel Pellegrini had taken note of his performance at the U-19 Euros.
“I’ve been playing since I was a pre-benjamin, since I was 5 years old. I haven’t worn any shirt other than that of Betis. I hope Pellegrini has seen this and is proud of me. Hopefully, it will be a boost for the first team, which is what would make me happiest.”
The 19-year-old striker also spoke about his emotions after delivering one of the best performances of his career.
“I am very happy, I have no trouble expressing what I feel inside right now. This is one of the happiest days of my life. We had a clear plan and clear goals,” he said.
“We knew things like this could happen. We have put in a lot of work, gone through many tough moments, and we could not let this opportunity slip away.”
