SPL confirms fixture changes to accommodate continental commitments | OneFootball

The Saudi Pro League has confirmed a series of fixture changes for the 2025-26 Roshn Saudi League, following the postponement of matches involving clubs competing in continental tournaments.

The adjustments come as RSL teams continue their campaigns in the AFC Champions League Elite, AFC Champions League Two, and the AGCFF Gulf Club Champions League.

The changes are designed to give participating clubs sufficient time to prepare and recover, while maintaining fairness across the RSL.

In a statement, the Saudi Pro League (SPL) stressed that the revised schedule was finalised in coordination with the affected clubs. Multiple scenarios were discussed, with feedback considered to ensure compliance with competition regulations and the broader football calendar.

As part of the changes, three Matchweek 28 fixtures, originally scheduled for April 10 and April 11, have been postponed. The affected matches are:

New dates for these games will be announced once the date for the King's Cup final is confirmed.

Meanwhile, the Matchweek 29 fixtures involving AFC Champions League Elite clubs have been moved from April 7 to April 8. These include:

Two additional Matchweek 28 fixtures - Al Najmah versus NEOM Sports Club and Al Taawoun versus Al Kholood - have been rescheduled to April 11 to ensure clubs are given the minimum required rest periods under league regulations.

The SPL has also brought forward two Matchweek 29 fixtures involving clubs competing in other regional tournaments: Al Qadsiah versus Al Shabab, and Al Nassr versus Al Ettifaq, will now be played on April 14 and 15, respectively.

The SPL reiterated its commitment to maintaining scheduling integrity, ensuring adequate rest for players, and upholding fairness across the competition.

Asian champions Al Ahli, Al Hilal and Al Ittihad are contesting the knockout rounds of the AFC Champions League Elite, with Al Nassr into the last 16 of AFC Champions League Two. Al Shabab, meanwhile, are into the final of the AGCFF Gulf Club Champions League.

The SPL reaffirmed its full support for Saudi clubs competing on the international stage, and its ongoing collaboration with all stakeholders to deliver a well-organised and competitive season.
