The battle for Lazio centre-back Mario Gila has intensified, with AC Milan facing fresh competition from Premier League sides. The 25-year-old remains a key partner to Alessio Romagnoli, yet both defenders are on deals running to June 2027 and there has been no breakthrough on renewals.

According to Tuttosport, Milan must act quickly as Bournemouth, Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa and Everton are circling, and some Premier League sides could outbid the Rossoneri with a richer salary offer.

Romagnoli could still end up at Al-Sadd, who made persistent approaches in January. Gila’s next move remains uncertain.

Gila is said to be Milan’s primary summer target, with former Lazio sporting director Igli Tare keen to reunite with the player he brought to Formello in 2022. Milan are reported to be aiming for a 15 million deal, a figure linked to his contract situation, with 50% of any fee due to Real Madrid via a sell-on fee.

Atletico Madrid are also in the frame as they look for a centre-back to replace Jose Gimenez. Lazio appear resigned to losing the Barcelona-born defender in the summer, and a bidding war could at least push the price higher.
