Amad Diallo has taken to Instagram to acknowledge Manchester United’s (and his) lacklustre form.
Exactly a year on from when the Old Trafford faithful were pleading with Erik ten Hag to grant Amad a starting role, the Ivorian livewire has been given exactly that under Ruben Amorim.
He was made to wait for his chances, but after getting them, Amad went on to oversee a career-best campaign; in the 43 appearances he made across all competitions, he returned 11 goals and 10 assists.
Eight goals and eight assists came in the Premier League alone, making him one of Amorim’s most trusted lieutenants by the closing stages of 2024/2025.

Yet, Amad, like the rest of the squad, has struggled to get going in 2025/2026.
United have scored only one open-play goal in six hours of action thus far, with the 23-year-old unable to really make his mark the way he’d have hoped to heading into the campaign.
Amad has started three out of four top-flight matches and played the full 90 minutes of the win over Burnley, during which he notched an assist, and the 3-0 defeat to City, where he had been deployed in a more attacking role in the absence of Matheus Cunha and Mason Mount.
He recorded 52 touches in total and a 92 per cent passing accuracy, completing 35 out of his 38 passes attempted. Amad also made two key passes and created one big chance (as per Sofascore).
Post-match, he took to Instagram with a snap of him attempting an overhead shot and captioned the post: “It’s temporary”.
It remains to be seen whether he’s referring to his personal run of form or United’s as a whole. Either way, fans will be hoping both turn around substantially in the coming weeks.
