Sunderland confirm Harrison Jones exit as midfielder joins Peterborough United | OneFootball

Harrison Jones has left Sunderland to join Peterborough United on a permanent deal.

The club said in a statement that the boyhood fan progressed through the academy and featured around the first team over the last two seasons.

He made his senior debut in February 2025, coming off the bench in a 2-1 away win at Sheffield Wednesday, and was named in matchday squads last season.

Jones captained the U21s in the Premier League Cup final in May and had been a prominent figure for the age-group side while training regularly with the seniors.

Sunderland exercised a 12-month option to extend his contract, yet had already told him he was free to explore other opportunities this summer.

No fee was disclosed, and it is understood Sunderland have financial protection if he excels at Peterborough and moves on. The club also wished him well for the next stage of his career.
