Sunderland are exploring a double summer move, with interest in Napoli midfielder André-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Olympiacos right-back Costinha under consideration.
Il Mattino reports that the Black Cats remain keen on Anguissa after looking at a deal last summer. The 30-year-old faces an uncertain future, with suggestions Napoli could allow a departure.
Injuries have disrupted his campaign and reportedly complicated talks over a new contract. He is tied to 2027, and there is a growing sense Napoli may listen to offers rather than renew.
Sunderland and Bournemouth were among the clubs pushing hardest previously, with his family said to favour a return to England. Although Antonio Conte convinced him to stay then, a Premier League switch could re-emerge this summer.
Despite fitness concerns, his ball-carrying and physical presence would add experience and variety to Régis Le Bris’ midfield if finances allow.
Meanwhile, Sunderland are also being credited with interest in Costinha as they seek defensive reinforcement. The 26-year-old helped deliver a league and cup double last season and featured in Europe, though his form has been patchier this term.
Sunderland are understood to have tracked the right-back since January and could consider formalising that interest. Competition is expected from England and Italy, and Olympiacos are unlikely to engage until their season ends. Costinha is under contract until 2029.
