The situation of Rafael Leao at AC Milan has created a lot of intrigue and speculation. While it is clear that he is one of their most decisive players, the Portuguese international is staring at an uncertain future due to a tense relationship with the manager.
First, the winger was pushed out to the bench by former boss Paulo Fonseca citing a lack of tactical discipline and he has found himself in a similar position under new manager Sergio Conceicao as well.
There has been unease developing in the relationship between Leao and the Milan fans as well, all of which have contributed to speculations that the forward could leave in the summer, with Barcelona paying close attention to the situation.
Now, according to Calciomercato, superagent Jorge Mendes is working on a possible departure for Rafael Leao in the upcoming summer transfer window with Barcelona, as well as Chelsea, emerging as potential destinations.
Even though Mendes no longer directly represents the 25-year-old attacker, he still has direct influence in the Milan winger’s camp. As such, he is reportedly working towards securing an exit for the player come summer.

Barcelona and Chelsea are two teams said to be interested in signing the former Lille wonderkid, but should he become available, more clubs are likely to throw their hats in the ring for his signing.
Barça are in the market for a new left-winger and Leao is a player that club president Joan Laporta has admired for a long time. Mendes’ close relationship with the Catalan club’s chief further adds strength to the idea of a summer transfer.
A number of Barcelona officials, including Laporta and director Deco, met with Mendes last week when the team was in Portugal for the UCL clash vs Benfica. And Leao’s name is believed to have come up in the meeting.
Any move, though, will likely depend on Barça’s Financial Fair Play situation.
