Double pays 7/2 with the best UK football betting sites.
Although Switzerland are the hosts of Euro 2025, they could struggle in the first group stage game at this year’s tournament with a tricky proposition of Norway in their way.
Norway sit seven rankings higher than their opponents for matchday 1 and they have a lot more firepower across the pitch than the tournament hosts.
Switzerland went viral in the build up to the Euros after losing 7-1 to FC Luzern’s under-15’s and despite the players insisting that they are fully prepared to host Euro 2025, there are certainly some major doubts over their quality.
Norway have already got the better of Switzerland on two occasions this year, winning 2-1 in February and 1-0 in June, both in the Nations League.
These nations also met at the 2023 World Cup in the group stage but nothing could separate the teams in a 0-0 draw. With Norway only ever winning by a narrow margin, it is no surprise that the odds are so close for the Group A opener in Basel.
Norway have one of the best forward lines at Euro 2025 and the team will most likely start Ada Hegerberg up front with Caroline Graham Hansen, Guro Reiten and Frida Maanum in support.
Although all of them can provide a serious threat on Wednesday night, it is Caroline Graham Hansen who we are backing to score at a price of 9/4 with the best UK football betting sites.
Hansen is one of most experienced players in Norway’s team, having made her Euros debut in 2013 when she was just 17-years-old.
Since her debut in 2013 Hansen has become regular feature in the Norway setup, but the 29-year-old has netted just one goal in European Championships when scoring in 2022 despite Norway’s shock group stage exit.
Although her record at the Euros isn’t amazing, Hansen still has a stunning strike rate with Norway, having bagged 31 goals in 61 appearances for the national team.
Hansen was also on the scoresheet for Norway in their 2-1 win against Switzerland in the Nations League.
Norway are one of just two sides to have won the Euros on more than one occasion and their history in the tournament suggests that they could go far once again this year.
As the highest ranked team in their group, Norway are just 4/6 to top Group A while they are a 25/1 long-shot to win the tournament.
The latest Euro 2025 outright odds suggest that Switzerland are 40/1 to win the tournament, while the group hosts are 5/2 to win their group.
