Still only 25-years-old, the midfielder has enjoyed a decorated and eventful career so far which has led her on the path to the Blues.

Get to know Lohmann more by reading 10 things about her below!

FOUR

Following her senior Bayern debut in March 2017, Lohmann established herself as a integral cog in their machine as they rose to the summit of German football.

A first Bundesliga title arrived in 2020/21 as her former employers won 20 out of 22 assignments, losing just once.

After missing out on retaining their title the following term, Lohmann and co. won the league three years in succession before adding the DFB-Supercup in 2024 and the DFB-Pokal in 2025 – meaning they won the double in 2024/25.

INTERNATIONAL STAGE

Lohmann’s domestic success has also translated onto the international stage with the midfielder an integral part of the Germany squad.

During her nation’s run to the final of the 2022 UEFA Euros, she played four matches including each of their three knockout games and the Wembley showpiece.

She then made their squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup before making her mark at the 2024 Olympic Games – playing three times as Germany won a Bronze Medal.

HONOUR

Following their success at the Olympics, Lohmann and her Germany teammates were awarded the prestigious Silbernes Lorbeerblatt award – the highest sports award in her homeland.

It followed Germany’s overall performance at the Games held in Paris where they won 12 Golds, 13 Silvers and 8 Bronze medals.

FAVOURITE FOOD

Lohmann revealed her favourite food to eat is pizza and that she has even bought herself a pizza oven to cook them at home.

As well as the Italian cuisine, she also likes to eat Asian food.

OFF THE FIELD

Away from the field the 25-year-old says she enjoys other sports including volleyball, spikeball and cycling.

Lohmann also likes reading and her favourite book is ‘Homo Deus’, meanwhile Peru is her favourite place travel.

GREAT SCOTT

During the 2022 Euros final, Lohmann was the player who infamously ‘interacted’ with Jill Scott during extra-time, with the City legend’s reaction going viral in the United Kingdom.

Our newest recruit, however, was oblivious until Georgia Stanway showed her during a Bayern training session shortly after the tournament.

“No, I wasn’t aware [of how big it became]”, Lohmann explained.

“I actually didn’t know it after the game, a few weeks later when I met Georgia Stanway she came to Bayern and we spoke about it again. She told me how big it was, I’ve just seen the video and it was actually funny.

“I had to laugh.”

SOCIAL MEDIA

In a game of ‘agree or disagree’ on the Germany national team’s official YouTube channel, Lohmann explained how she prefers Instagram over TikTok.

On her own Instagram account, she currently has over 116k followers - follow her on the social media platform: @sydneylohmann.

THOUSAND

En route to the 2020/21 title, Lohmann also made history by scoring the 1000th Bundesliga goal for a Bayern team in a 2-0 win over SGS Essen.

Hannah Glass had opened the scoring for her former employers in the first half before City’s new No.22 coolly dispatched a penalty in the closing stages to all-but seal three points.

UNBEATEN

From December 2021 to October 2024, Lohmann was a key member of the Bayern Munich team who recorded a historic and staggering 44-game unbeaten Bundesliga run.

During that time they won two league titles and the DFB-Supercup in 2024 – their first since 1997.

Perhaps the standout victory from the 2023/24 season on the scintillating streak was a 4-0 away win over Wolfsburg which cemented their place at the top of the table.

U-17 champion

Before she broke onto the senior international stage, the 25-year-old progressed through Germany’s youth system – playing at various youth levels.

During her time in the Under-17s, she helped them with the U17 European Championships in 2016 and 2017 respectively.

The first triumph followed a 4-3 semi-final win over England before they beat Spain 3-2 on penalties in the showpiece following a 0-0 draw.

Lohmann and her teammates then retained their title a year later with City’s midfielder scoring in the semi-final victory over Norway in normal time before they prevailed on penalties after a 1-1 draw.

Germany U17 faced Spain again in the final where they once again won via spot-kicks, 3-1.
