Inter Miami face a battle to keep Tadeo Allende after their MLS Cup win, despite his breakout post-season.
The 26-year-old became the first player in MLS history to score nine goals in the play-offs, a run lit up by arguably world-class finishes. TyC Sports reports that Celta Vigo have set a 10 million dollar price and that Miami have already made an approach, but the clubs remain far apart on valuation.
Sporting director Marco Garcés said Miami had expressed interest and made contact, adding that Allende is scheduled to arrive on 2 January.
A 10 million dollar fee would push Allende into Designated Player territory, which Miami are keen to avoid as they seek a higher-profile third DP this winter.
Players have taken pay cuts to join Lionel Messi before, yet keeping Allende may prove costlier. A new stadium and the prospect of entering 2026 as defending champions could still aid Miami’s case.
If Allende wants to stay, that could strengthen Miami’s hand in talks. For now, whether he remains is uncertain, though recent off-season moves suggest the Herons aim to preserve their winning culture.
