Manchester United and Chelsea are currently in talks over a deal to take Brazilian international midfielder Andrey Santos to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils have already agreed a deal with Atalanta for his fellow Brazilian Ederson, and the 22-year-old could be joining him at the Theatre of Dreams.

Man United are edging closer to a move for Santos, with a deal to sign the ‘unbelievable‘ youngster progressing.

Chelsea are open to selling Santos but want £50 million. While the Red Devils are looking to pay less, there is growing confidence that the deal will be done.

Santos will be eager to join a club playing in the Champions League and prove himself after the blow of missing out on the World Cup.

He was named in Brazil’s preliminary 55-man squad for the World Cup but did not make the final 26-man squad.

Carlo Ancelotti preferred Ederson ahead of Santos when he named a replacement for right-back Wesley, who was injured a few days before the tournament.

Playing in the elite European competition will help boost his chances of becoming a regular for his country.

Santos could end up competing with Ederson for a place in the Man United starting XI and the national team.
