Tashreeq Morris is on his way to join Durban City FC as a new experience!
A potential reunion is on the cards that could reignite a striker's career and bolster a newly-promoted side's attack. Tashreeq Morris's time at Kaizer Chiefs has been underwhelming; since his arrival from the defunct SuperStats United in early 2025, the 31-year-old has failed to find the net in ten outings, his contributions fading into the backdrop of the Soweto giants' ambitions.
However, a familiar figure appears to be throwing him a lifeline. Gavin Hunt, the manager who once worked with Morris at SuperSport, is now at the helm of Durban City and is keen to bring the Cape Town-born forward to the coast. With the Citizens back in the Betway Premiership and eager to solidify their status, Hunt sees in Morris not the struggling Chief, but a seasoned graduate of the Cape Town Spurs academy who could provide the proven striking power his current squad lacks.
While the club has initially relied on the efforts of Joslin Kamatuka and Jean Lwamba, the proposed loan move—with an option for a permanent transfer—signals Hunt's desire to add depth, experience, and a tactical edge to his frontline. For Morris, it represents more than a change of scenery; it’s a chance to reunite with a believer and finally rediscover his goal-scoring touch.
