The 41-year-old replaced Maresca in January, and signed a six and a half year deal, although there’s understood to be a break clause.

Rosenior made a good start to his tenure, but is now under growing pressure following a poor run of results, with Chelsea sat outside of the Champions League places in sixth.

How the Chelsea dressing room feel about Liam Rosenior

A 7-0 win against Port Vale in the FA Cup last weekend won’t have done much to alleviate the pressure, and Rosenior really needs a positive result against Manchester City on Sunday.

The former Strasbourg boss has already been accused of losing the dressing room, whilst Matt Law has claimed the players aren’t buying into his tactics.

Chelsea are reportedly still backing their man, and David Ornstein has reported they don’t plan to assess Rosenior until summer 2027.

There have been suggestions players don’t respect Rosenior, and The Athletic have reported a source close to a a senior player has stated Rosenior is yet to carry the same aura as Maresca or Pochettino in the dressing room.

The report adds there’s also an understanding he’s only been in the job a few months, but it’s clear the squad were impacted by the departure of Maresca.
