RCD Mallorca face a pivotal call after dismissing Jagoba Arrasate, with 13 matches left and survival on the line in LaLiga EA Sports.

According to Superdeporte, the sporting department are assessing several candidates to take charge in a critical phase.

Xavi García Pimienta has long been on the club’s list, his style and methods appeal to the board. Even so, an immediate move is uncertain, as he has been viewed more as a long-term project than a short-term fix.

Luis García Plaza, popular from his previous stint, is also being mentioned. Despite his ties and knowledge of the club, there has been no recent formal contact with his camp, and he has said he is learning of the speculation through the media.

Toni Amor, a Mallorcan who worked on Javier Aguirre’s staff, has support among some fans and is valued for tactical analysis. His lack of experience as a head coach, plus a current commitment in Mexico preparing a major project, complicates any swift arrival.

An internal route could be Gustavo Siviero, the B team coach and former Mallorca player, offering a smoother transition. He knows the structure well and could act on an interim basis until a definitive appointment is made.

The club must decide quickly and wisely amid sporting and institutional pressure, aiming to correct their trajectory and secure top-flight status.
