The damning stats behind Juric’s short-lived Atalanta, Southampton and Roma spells

Ivan Juric’s record over the last 12 months does not make for brilliant reading, with two sackings and one contract termination after short-lived spells with Atalanta, Southampton and Roma, and a win rate of just over 23% over that time.
Juric was officially dismissed from his position as head coach of Atalanta on Monday afternoon, following two back-to-back defeats in Serie A, which came after a run of six consecutive draws in the league, which has left the team in 13th place in the division after 11 matches.
It is expected that Raffaele Palladino will soon be announced as his replacement in Bergamo.
Juric’s career at Atalanta lasted just 15 matches across all competitions. Alarmingly, over half of those matches ended in draws, including a run of six in a row in Serie A.

The final nail in Juric’s coffin at Atalanta was the recent 3-0 loss at home to newly-promoted Sassuolo, which followed a disappointing 1-0 league defeat by Udinese the week prior.
Wins were even more of a rarity for Juric at Southampton last season. Appointed in December following the dismissal of Russell Martin, the Croatian already had his work cut out for him with the Saints sitting dead last in the league at the time of his arrival.
Juric was unable to turn things around on the English south coast, picking up just two wins from his 16 matches in charge. Those victories came against Ipswich, who would go on to be relegated at the end of that season, and against second-division Swansea in the FA Cup. 13 of his 16 games in charge ended in defeat.
Southampton were eventually relegated and Juric was dismissed in April.
At Roma, Juric oversaw just 12 games before being given the boot. Four of those games ended in wins, three in draws and five in defeat.
Despite picking up back-to-back wins in Serie A at the start of his tenure, Juric would go on to lose to Elfsborg in the Europa League, as well as against Inter, Fiorentina, Hellas Verona and Bologna in Serie A.
