Football League World analyses how much each QPR player is estimated to be earning

How much money QPR spend on wages is a tale as old as time, some may say.

The Hoops have had their share of scrutiny over the past decade based on how much they've paid their players in the hopes of achieving Premier League success.

In 2014, they were found to have spent more than £75 million on wages, which made up 195% of their turnover, a Financial Fair Play rule break that they settled in 2018.

Since then, the Hoops have been on a very gradual comeback, settling in midtable in the Championship, until this past summer, when a very ambitious transfer window set them on their way to becoming outsiders for a play-off place.

Julien Stephan has an exciting squad at his disposal, but how much does each player earn? Football League World has consulted Capology to get their estimated weekly wage.

Starting this list is young Rayan Kolli, who Capology estimates to be earning a small £500 per week.

Given that the Algerian frontman has just turned 21, the lowest wage in the squad may be justified. However, Kolli has emerged as a solid back-up in the 2026 absence of Rumarn Burrell, meaning that he may be worth a little more now.

26 ? ? Joe Walsh - £1,200 p/w

Joe Walsh was brought in by QPR back in 2021 as one for the future, and until this season, has been either loaned out to lower league, and even non-league, clubs, or has been the back-up goalkeeper.

This season, the 23-year-old hasn't been too inspiring when relied upon as the number one, but if Julien Stephan is keen on ensuring that he remains the first-choice option, he may need to be paid a little more than the second-lowest amount in the squad.

Australian under-23 international Kealey Adamson was one of the few signings in the summer that fell under the radar in terms of fanfare, and given his role in the squad, it's easy to see why.

The right-back has been a squad player at best, and out of the squad at most, this season, making a handful of appearances off the bench, including in the 7-1 thrashing by Coventry City back in August.

An unremarkable estimated wage for someone at the bottom of the pecking order at Loftus Road.

2006-born Daniel Bennie is an exciting prospect at QPR, and the fact that he's on wages higher than three of his teammates, despite still being a teenager, reflects that.

Many felt that the wideman could have been sent out on loan in January to a third or fourth-tier side, but Julien Stephan kept Bennie around, and after making his first appearance of the campaign in mid-January, he's appeared in five straight.

It won't be long until the Australian Under-20 international has an increased role and an increased wage on this side, it feels.

23 ? ? Kieran Morgan - £1,500 p/w

Former Spurs youngster Kieran Morgan may not have played as important a role under Julien Stephan as he did in his debut campaign last season, but there's no doubt that the 19-year-old is one for the future, and he fits in well with this exciting squad.

Right now, his estimated wage reflects his age and his role in the squad, but like Bennie, expect that to rise in the coming years.

Former PSG academy man Ziyad Larkeche earns double what Kieran Morgan does, but his role in the side is incredibly less important.

The 23-year-old hasn't played for the Hoops since April 2024. Last season, he was sent out on loan to Scottish side Dundee FC, and he's yet to make his bow under Julien Stephan due to an ACL injury he picked up in August.

Larkeche signed this contract last June, and it'll be intriguing to see if he'll be used regularly upon his return.

21 ? ? Jonathan Varane - £4,000 p/w

Jonathan Varane signed a new deal at QPR in May, running until the end of the 2029/30 campaign. If Capology's estimated numbers ring true, and they are paying him just £4,000 per week, then the Hoops have got a steal.

There arguably aren't many more important players in the QPR squad currently than the 24-year-old, who was imperious in his debut campaign last season, and has continued that into the 2025/26 campaign, when available.

If this list detailed how much we think every QPR player should earn, Varane would be near the top. As it happens, though, he's right near the bottom.

20 ? ? Justin Obikwu - £4,000 p/w

We're yet to see much of Justin Obikwu, after he picked up an injury shortly after arriving in January from Coventry.

The 21-year-old looks like a solid prospect, and impressed in the short time he was afforded on the pitch at Lincoln City in the first half of the campaign. We'll see if he'll be worth what he's being paid when he does return.

19 ? ? Rumarn Burrell - £5,000 p/w

One man who has been worth every penny so far this season, and arguably the most important player at Loftus Road currently, is Rumarn Burrell, who was playing in the Scottish third tier just two and a half seasons ago.

The Jamaican international was impressive at Burton Albion last season, but even with that, some would have questioned the reported seven-figure fee and an estimated £5,000 per week contract that QPR handed Burrell and his former club in the summer.

Not anymore, though, and most Championship fans will be expecting an improved deal to be given to him sooner rather than later.

While so far in this list, QPR have been rather safe when handing out contracts to young, unproven stars for the future, in Esquerdinha's case, the 19-year-old was given a little more expectation with a healthier wage.

The left-back was purely an academy player at Loftus Road in his first half-season with the club. However, this year hasn't been the breakout year many expected from the former Fluminense man.

Esquerdinha hasn't been able to nail down a starting spot so far this season, and many at Loftus Road will be hoping for a little more to justify the wage they're estimated to be paying him.
