Leeds United have a clutch of squad numbers free for prospective signings ahead of the new season.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Harry Wilson is expected to join as a free agent after a deal was agreed. The former Fulham winger produced 10 goals and seven assists last season. Leeds continue to pursue Shea Charles, with bids worth north of £20m, and hope remains they can persuade free agent Julian Brandt to head to Elland Road.
Wilson wore No.8 at Craven Cottage, but that number at Leeds is owned by Sean Longstaff, so alternatives await.
No.5 has been vacated by Pascal Struijk following his £20m move to Brighton, having worn it for two years. No.12 was Jaidon Anthony's in 2023/24 before his return to Bournemouth, and it has remained unclaimed in the two years since.
No.13 is often kept for back-up goalkeepers, although neither Karl Darlow nor Alex Cairns chose it. Kristoffer Klaesson relinquished it in 2024 and Kiko Casilla wore it previously.
No.16 is now free after Illan Meslier left on the expiry of his contract. Past holders include Yosuke Ideguchi and Toumani Diagouraga.
No.17 belonged to Largie Ramazani in 2024/25, then became available when he left on a summer loan to Valencia. He could reclaim it if staying, but that does not feel likely.
No.20 was Jack Harrison's for the first half of last season before his January loan to Fiorentina. He is unlikely to be around next season, so it should remain available.
