Brazilian icon Rivaldo's advised Barcelona to protect Lamine Yamal’s fitness rather than rushing him back for the upcoming El Clasico against Real Madrid.

Rivaldo Sends Message to Barcelona Management

In comments reported by Spanish media, former Barcelona & Brazil forward Rivaldo cautioned the club against taking risks with their teenage sensation Lamine Yamal who has been struggling with discomfort in his groin area.

Rivaldo emphasized that the player’s long term development is far more important than featuring in one high profile match.

"I understand Flick’s frustration after losing such influential player but the most important thing is his health, If there’s any risk of injury, he should stay out until he’s 100% ready" he said

Rivaldo added that playing below full fitness would benefit neither the club nor the national team:

"Playing at 60 or 70 percent helps no one. It’s better for him to recover fully with Barcelona first , then return to Spain’s national team once he’s completely fit"

He also noted the emotional pressure on young players ahead of El Clasico:

"Every Barcelona player dreams of playing at the Santiago Bernabeu but Lamine must think about his career not just 1 match. If he’s fully fit, he should play .. if not, he must wait".
