In a recent report, Sport stated that Barcelona can expect a bidding war for Levante forward Karl Etta Eyong next summer. It is understood that the Catalan club would have to rival Premier League clubs as well as other European teams if they decide to rekindle their interest in the Cameroonian talent at the end of this campaign.
Eyong has made a terrific start to this campaign as he has put in a string of impressive displays for Levante in the final third. The 21-year-old has scored five goals and earned three assists in eight matches for the Spanish outfit this season in all competitions.
The Cameroonian striker has led the line well for Levante as he is averaging 3.07 shots per 90 minutes in La Liga. He has kept 38.5% of his attempts on target. However, Eyong needs to improve his ball distribution after completing 72.6% of his attempted passes in the Spanish top tier (stats via fbref.com).
Eyong is under contract at Levante until the summer of 2029, which could make it difficult for Barcelona to sign him on a cut-price deal next year.

Eyong is a decent dribbler with the ball at his feet and excels at finding a yard of space for himself to get some strikes in at goal. He has also got the eye to play a few decisive passes in the final third and has proven himself to be a decent finisher up top.
However, the Cameroonian sensation is still quite raw and would need time to settle into life at the Catalan club. We can expect him to inject more quality into Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick’s frontline in the long run.
At 21, the future looks quite bright for Eyong as long as he continues to improve with each year. Therefore, Barca would be wise to go for a player of his potential next summer.
Eyong would even serve as a good, long-term successor to Robert Lewandowski at the Catalan club. With all things considered, Flick should focus on trying everything in his power to lure the gifted forward to the Nou Camp.
