Harry Kane scored his 100th goal for Bayern Munich in his 107th appearance for Germany’s record champions, a feat that Erling Haaland was unable to reach at Manchester City, nor Kylian Mbappé at Paris Saint-Germain.

The Englishman has taken up somewhat of a new role for Bayern this season, one that involves him dropping far deeper than he did in his first two seasons at the club.

“He’s definitely one of the best strikers in the world,” said sporting director Eberl, who spoke of Kane’s goalscoring record: “That didn’t happen by chance.”

Kane’s new role has allowed Luis Díaz to shine since joining from Liverpool, Serge Gnabry has improved and Michael Olise continues to dazzle. Nicolas Jackson has also relished playing alongside Bayern’s hitman.

“This is definitely a Harry Kane that we haven’t seen before,” Eberl told Kicker.

“He’s now perceived as even more multifaceted.

“We all knew he was an outstanding goalscorer, but now there are additional aspects that further benefit our squad and our style of play.”

Kane rested ahead of PSG test

With PSG in mind, Jackson was rewarded with a start in Bayern’s attack, with the Senegalese forward scoring his maiden Bundesliga goal.

Allowing Kane a rest, “does make a difference overall,” adds Eberl, who says that “there’s always the possibility that he might come off a quarter of an hour earlier” should Bayern Munich have a big game coming up.
