Wolves have already welcomed familiar faces this season, with Rob Edwards back as head coach and Rui Pedro Silva on his staff. With the January window approaching, further returns could be explored to freshen the squad.
According to Sky Sports, goalkeeper, right wing-back, centre midfield, winger, number 10 and number nine are among areas under consideration. Here are three former players who could fit those needs.
Adama Traore has the pace Wolves lack in attack. The Fulham winger has largely been a substitute this season, so a return could suit all parties. He has also been linked with Nuno Espirito Santo at West Ham, following earlier interest at Nottingham Forest, though Molineux and its atmosphere could still appeal.
Academy product Ryan Giles made a single Wolves appearance, a 72-minute FA Cup outing at Shrewsbury in 2018/2019. Now shining for Hull City and among the Championship’s leading providers, he is also well known to Edwards, who gave him a debut at AFC Telford in 2018 and later signed him for Luton for £5 million in 2023/2024. Left wing-back or left-back is not the most urgent need, but his delivery could lift creativity.
Pedro Lima could be recalled as an alternative to Ki-Jana Hoever, who has struggled this season. With Matt Doherty out of contract and no decision yet, the Brazilian might be a useful option for a likely season in the Championship. His Porto loan has mostly been academy minutes, so top-flight exposure at Wolves could serve him better.
