Tottenham Hotspur have no intention of entering the race to sign Mason Greenwood this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old is expected to leave Olympique Marseille this summer, and several clubs have registered interest in him.

Having worked with new Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi at Marseille, a reunion was reportedly on the cards.

Marseille have placed Greenwood on the chopping block as they work through their financial challenges, and Spurs were named among several clubs in Europe lining up a £43.3 million bid.

However, De Zerbi isn’t interested in bringing Greenwood to Tottenham. AS Roma are monitoring his situation.

However, they are some distance away from meeting Marseille’s valuation of the former England international.

Any future transfer would also benefit Manchester United, who negotiated a 40 percent sell-on clause when Greenwood left the club permanently last year.

Tottenham have been included in the transfer discussion partly because of the relationship between Greenwood and De Zerbi.

The Italian manager described Greenwood as an ‘exceptional’ player, but isn’t interested in signing him.

Greenwood was in sensational form for Marseille last season, bagging 26 goals and 11 assists in 45 appearances across all competitions.

He helped Marseille qualify for the Europa League with 16 goals and seven assists in 32 league games.

Despite his form, Marseille’s financial situation has forced them to consider parting ways with the former United academy graduate.

However, Tottenham are looking elsewhere for attacking reinforcements and are also moving forward with strengthening other areas of De Zerbi’s squad.

Spurs have already agreed personal terms with Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali, who is also wanted by Man United and Arsenal.
