Tottenham Hotspur will consider bringing former players back to the club, according to The Times.

Toby Alderweireld recently revealed that he would love to return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs defender Ben Davies is also expected to step up after he finishes playing, either into a coaching or strategic position.

Alderweireld has admitted that he would love a strategic role at Tottenham, and both men could now be appointed to key roles as they look to rebuild after a woeful season.

They finished 17th in the Premier League, two points above the relegation zone. Changes are needed across the club.

Daniel Levy left Spurs as executive chairman last September, and the club has been short of football leadership.

Former Tottenham stars with knowledge and experience of the club could be perfect for some positions. Alderweireld and Davies fit the bill, given their years of service there.

Davies joined Spurs from Swansea City in 2014 and made 363 appearances across 12 seasons.

A one-year extension to his contract was triggered last summer, but he is unlikely to sign a new deal.

Alderweireld spent six seasons at the club, making 236 appearances for them before leaving and later retiring as a professional footballer at the end of the 2024-25 season.

He could be a solid addition to the club.
