Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement with Igor Tudor to become the club's interim manager.
Tudor is set to take charge in North London until the end of the campaign after productive talks, according toThe Athletic. No permanent option has been included in the deal.
Spurs had been seeking an experienced coach to take the reins until the summer, following the decision to sack Thomas Frank this week.
Frank was dismissed following the club's midweek defeat to Newcastle United, after less than eighth months in charge. The Dane was appointed from Brentford in the summer but struggled to find consistent results.
Tudor will arrive with a wealth of experience having previously coached Udinese, Juventus, Marseille and Galatasaray among his former clubs. The Croatian has been out of work since being sacked at Juventus in October.
During his playing career, Tudor made 174 appearances for Juventus and won 55 international caps for Croatia.
The interim coach will oversee Spurs until the end of the season, when thePremier League side will assess permanent candidates from a wider pool of options.
Several big name coaches are out of contract in the summer, including former boss Mauricio Pochettino, Oliver Glasner, Marco Silva and Andoni Iraola.
Tudor's first game in charge will be the North London derby against Arsenal next weekend. He inherits a Spurs side that are winless in eight league games and currently 16th in thePremier League table.
Spurs are just five points above the bottom three as the club battle to avoid a first top-flight relegation since 1977.
