Igor Tudor has challenged Tottenham Hotspur to 'cry or fight' as the club battle to survive in the Premier League this season.
Tottenham are only a point above the relegation places after an 11-game winless run in the Premier League. Their torrid form continued in midweek after a 5-2 defeat at Atletico Madrid in the Champions League, a fixture that saw Spurs three goals down inside 15 minutes.
Tudor made headlines during the defeat in Spain, aftersubstituting goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky after the third goal, following two errors.
His issues are further compounded by the absence of Cristian Romero and Joao Palhinha this weekend, with the duo following concussion protocols after a clash of heads in Madrid.
The North Londoners have now lost aclub-record six games in a row, ahead of a trip to face Liverpool at Anfield this weekend.
Ahead of Sunday's showdown with thePremier League champions, Tudor talked about the challenge facing his team. The under-fire interim coach called on Spurs to show fight as the club bid to avoid a shock relegation to the second tier.
"Tough. For sure. Not just because of the last game but because of the period. Not easy situation, not easy moment. Big challenge to change things. Like everything in life, you can choose how to see the situation.
"You can cry or you can fight. You can be the victim or you can say I can change something and this is the message I want to start with and what I communicate with the players. Everyone speaks and everyone has opinions. The bottle is always half empty or half full. Here, there is nothing full, there are a lot of empty things but difficult moments don't last.
"I believe the players will take this as a challenge, as an opportunity, to stand up with the courage to change things after this period."
