Two bids in play for Algeciras CF – Including an €8m US offer | OneFootball

A pair of offers have been tabled for ownership of Primera Federación outfit Algeciras CF.

One such offer, it has been confirmed to Get Football News, comes by way of US investment firm Digital Athlete Ventures.

This bid is understood to be worth a considerable €8 million.

Alexander Jarvis of Digital Athlete Ventures played an important role in the deal laid out by the United States-based firm.

DAV have already taken over ownership of one football club this summer, in the form of Irish outfit Cobh Ramblers.

Algeciras, who are currently plying their trade in the third tier of the Spanish football system, are at present owned by another American, in the form of entrepreneur Mac Lackey.

The Charlotte native took over at the Estadio Nuevo Mirador back in 2023, but is now facing increasing pressure to sell his majority stake in the Spanish club.

The identity of the 2nd bidder for Algeciras, according to Diario AS, is unknown.

It now remains to be seen if Digital Athlete Ventures have done enough to add to their portfolio courtesy of the incorporation of ‘Los Algeciristas’.
